Chrome Nail Art Tutorial: Ruby, Turquoise, Lime, and Lavender

We've created four looks with our chrome pigments to inspire your creativity during Sparkle Season! Our video tutorials will walk you through a number of techniques using our chromes in Ruby, Turquoise, Lime, Lavender and Rose Gold.

Keep reading to learn how to recreate these chrome nail art designs.
 
French Contrast 
  1. Apply a base layer of Black Gel. We've used Gel&Go Blackout and cure for 60 seconds.
  2. Apply your No Wipe Top Coat and cure for 60 seconds.
  3. Using an applicator sponge, buff the Ruby Chrome over the entire nail.
  4. Dust away any excess chrome left on the surface of the nail using a fluffy brush.
  5. Apply a layer of Satin Matt Topcoat to the entire nail and cure for one minute.
  6. Using the No Wipe Top Coat create a French tip and cure fully. You can use a smaller detailing brush to create the tip if you prefer.
 
Chrome Ombre
  1. Apply a base layer of Black Gel. We've used Gel&Go Blackout and cure for 60 seconds.
  2. Apply your No Wipe Top Coat and cure for 60 seconds.
  3. Using an applicator sponge, buff Lavender Chrome to just over half the nail.
  4. Dust away any excess pigment with a fully brush.
  5. Apply another coat of No Wipe Top Coat and cure for 60 seconds.
  6. Using a clear applicator sponge, buff the Rose Gold Chrome to the other half of the nail. Make sure your over the Lavender slightly to create an ombre effect. 
  7. Dust away any excess pigment with a fluffy brush.
  8. Finish with a layer of Gel&Go Base & Topcoat and cure for one minute.
 
French Lime Twist - Pigment Hack
  1. Apply a thin coat of your chosen base colour. We've used Pro Colour Sweetheart Builder and cure.
  2. Apply another coat of Sweetheart - do not cure. Use a clean Flat Gel Brush, and wipe away the gel from the tip to create the perfect smile line and remove bulk. Cure when you're happy.
  3. On a mixing plate or a piece of foil, mix PRO Base & Build clear gel and the Lime Chrome pigment to create a sparkling gel.
  4. Using a striping nail art brush, apply your chrome gel to create the French Tip and cure for 30 seconds when you're happy.
  5. Finish with a layer of Gel&Go Base & Topcoat or a layer of Base & Build  if you need to add strength or fix any dips. Cure. 
     
    Abstract French - Isolated Chrome
    1. Apply your chosen base & cure. We've used Pro Colour Whisper Builder.
    2. Apply Satin Matt Topcoat to the entire nail and cure for one minute
    3. Create a curved, abstract French shape using No Wipe Top Coat and cure for 60 seconds when you're happy with your shape..
    4. Using an applicator sponge, buff the Turquoise Chrome to the area where the No Wipe has cured.
    5. Dust away any excess pigment with a fluffy brush.
    6. Seal your chrome design only with No Wipe Top Coat and cure for one minute. Leave the matt base exposed.
    7. Remove any dust on the matt area of the nail with Guard and cotton wipe if needed.
    8. Finish with a layer of Gel&Go Base & Topcoat or layer of Base & Build if you need to add strength or fix any dips. Cure.
