Tip Tuesday: Don't dull your shine

Don’t let cuticle oil dull your shine!

Getting the perfect photo can be tricky! Cuticle oil or lotions left on the surface of your gels can dull their shine and distort reflections making them look uneven. If this is something you’re noticing, there’s an easy fix for this.

One last cleanse!

Hands and fingers should look hydrated (not oily!), so once you’ve applied your choice of oil, cream or balm, gently massage them into the skin surrounding the nail and up the fingers and hand. If needed, you can blot excess oil with a paper towel.

To finish, use your cleansing /finishing solution to remove any residue from the surface of the gel only.  Use a fresh wipe, not the one you removed your inhibition layer with.

This will restore the shine of the gel and help you to capture that perfect finish shot while leaving fingers hydrated!  We recommend our GUARD solution that breaks down the greasy residue.

Using a no wipe top coat?

You may need to dry wipe after one last time after your solution to restore the shine. Results may differ depending on the brand you’re using, but this technique works perfectly for CALGEL & Pro Base&Build clear, and our HEMA Free Gel&Go 2in1 Base & Top Coat.
